Fashion's Night Out to Return in 2010

After a successful first outing that wooed hundreds of shoppers with one night of celebrity appearances, performances, free cocktails, and sheer spectacle, Fashion's Night Out is set to return next September. Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, and NYC & Company announced today that the retail-boosting initiative will take place on September 9, 2010. Building on the first installment, which involved more than 800 participating retailers across five boroughs, the organizers hope to make next year's version bigger and better.

"The numbers are in, and it's clear that Fashion's Night Out was a tremendous success. Thousands of New Yorkers attended the events in all five boroughs, supporting the city's retail and fashion industries, and helping a worthwhile cause. It's sure to be an even bigger event in 2010," Bloomberg said in a statement. Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour added, "It was wonderful to see people embrace this initiative and we are thrilled that they wish it to return."
