Ferragamo Store Launch Has Sexy Servers
Not even master magician David Copperfield could conjure his way through the throngs of people waiting to get into the two-story Salvatore Ferragamo flagship on Fifth Avenue for the store's launch at the beginning of Fashion Week. He had to wait in a line that wrapped around the block like everyone else—even those carrying one of the event's sleek custom-made-in-Italy invites.

The event producers at GM Productions added some Italian touches to the the Italy-based brand's party. They hired makeup artists and stylists to glam up the models-turned-caterwaiters from Metropolitan Hospitality with very chic, very Italian looks—slicked back hair in high ponytails and ruby red lips. The pretty people served caterer Acquolina's Italian-inspired nibbles such as prosciutto roll with foie gras and fig chutney on black-and-white trays. Dessert followed in the form of mini Italian gelato ice cream cones and warm chocolate cake.

Models who weren't serving guests, including Karolina Kurkova and Alec Wek, stopped to pose on the red carpet provided by Metropolitan Skytracker/Access Event Services and then stepped inside the event to soak in the sounds of DJ Todd Mallis. Fans crowded the DJ booth and danced on the lower level of the two-story store.
