Village People Play Javits for BiZBash
There was a palpable sense of excitement mixed with disbelief in the Javits Center when 70's pop group the Village People took the stage at BiZBash's Event Industry Hall of Fame ceremony the first day of the BiZBash Javits Meeting and Event Expo—The Fresh Idea Show. The costumed pop group, which has performed at countless corporate and private events, was the recipient of the BiZBash Hall of Fame event entertainment award. Although they were the most spectacularly attired, they weren't the only honorees of the evening. BiZBash CEO and founder David Adler, president Richard Aaron and editor in chief Chad Kaydo inducted a group of long-time event industry pros: Kathleen Moore, vice president of event marketing for JP Morgan Chase; Joseph Cozza, executive director of the Marriott Marquis; Patrick McMullan, event photographer; Alison Awerbach and Jim Kirsch of Abigail Kirsch Culinary Productions, who accepted an award on behalf of the Kirsch family; and absentee honoree Karl Andren of New York Cruise Lines (parent company of the Circle Line).

Following the awards presentation, the costumed 70's super group performed two songs. The first, "Macho Man," was kicked off with a blast of confetti from FlutterFetti, and the group followed up with their trademark hit, "YMCA."
