| Coty Hosts Science-Theme Centennial |
|
| Coty Cosmetics hosted a science-theme party during Fashion Week at the Rose Center for Earth and Space to celebrate the company's 100th anniversary and the launch of Coty: Perfumer and Visionary, a commemorative book that chronicles the fragrance and cosmetic company's history. Hosted by Coty C.E.O. Bernd Beetz and produced by Alexandre de Betak of Bureau Betak, the event was attended by more than 600 guests, including Jennifer Lopez, Kate Moss, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, all of whom have fragrances manufactured by Coty. Filled with chemistry props and held in a science-minded venue, the event highlighted the company's work creating top-selling fragrances. |

The science theme carried through from the venue to the food and drinks. Cocktails were served from white underlit bars decorated by Johnny Hardesty with beakers, flasks, and other laboratory equipment. The sleek, silver, circular space of the Cullman Hall of the Universe was transformed into a blue-lit lounge, where a special lighting scheme beamed outlines of perfume bottles on the walls and the ceiling.
Oversized blue martinis and Coty-branded cookies were distributed by models wearing Coty baby tees. And Abigail Kirsch kept the science theme going with pink watermelon shots in test tubes and hors d'oeuvres presented on specially designed trays. The nibbles included wild mushroom profiteroles served on milk white Plexiglas trays with portable DVD players inside showing video clips of interplanetary travel. Root beer floats and milkshakes were served on Plexiglas
trays that lit the drinks from below and steamed with dry ice.
