In the wake of the massive earthquake and tsunami affecting millions in Asia, many restaurants in New York have organized efforts to raise funds for survivors. The Jean-Luc Restaurant Group will donate $1 of every entrée purchased in January, and the B.R. Guest restaurant group will donate 20 percent of net sales this weekend (January 9 to 11) to the Red Cross Tsunami Relief Fund. Vegetarian restaurant and wine bar Counter will donate $3 from every appetizer to Action Against Hunger. Sushi Sambais also partnering with Action Against Hunger to found the Restaurants Against Hunger Tsunami Relief Fund and this month, all Sushi Samba restaurants will donate 1 percent of food and beverage sales to the fund.
