Equipment Accident Ends DVF Show With Injuries
A falling section of lighting equipment brought the Diane von Furstenberg show to an abrupt end Sunday night. Four fashion editors in the front row were injured, but news reports about the accident say no one was seriously hurt. The equipment fell during the finale of the 6 PM show, which was held at the designer’s West 12th Street studio. The Daily pointed out that, ironically, the show’s program notes included a card from von Furstenberg that read, “How do you have a show about joie de vivre and glamour when faced with disasters? After much soul searching I thought that ‘the show must go on’ but that I will match the cost of the show and donate it to Habitat for Humanity to rebuild houses after Katrina.” We’ll take this opportunity to point you to our story on buying event insurance.
