Portfolio Signs as Event Sponsor
Condé Nast Portfolio, the much-ballyhooed new business magazine from the 4 Times Square publishing giant, is positioning itself next to the country’s top dealmakers. According to Crain’s, the magazine announced May 14 that it will be the exclusive media partner for the annual Foursquare conference in November. This is Portfolio’s first big outside partnership, and it would be hard-pressed to find one more prestigious.

The conference, run by the private investment firm Quadrangle, is a two-day, invitation-only fest for kingpins in business, technology, media, and entertainment. Last year’s event drew the likes of YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley, Sony chief Howard Stringer, Harvey Weinstein, and Jerry Seinfeld. As part of the agreement, the magazine will run selected editorial content and exclusive video from the conference on its Web site, though exactly which parts remains TBD.
