| Director Julie Taymor has already wrestled with Frida Kahlo, Shakespeare, and The Lion King. Next up is the Fab Four. Against the vibrant backdrop of 1960s Liverpool, New York, Detroit, and Vietnam, Across the Universe is an original musical tale of two lovers (named Lucy and Jude—you can guess why) struggling to find their way back to each other, as told through the music of the Beatles. Expect Taymor’s signature whimsy and larger-than-life imagery, and keep your eyes peeled for cameos by Eddie Izzard and Bono. The film arrives in theaters nationwide on September 21.
