We just got the word that the Hotel Edison’s Supper Club, which shuttered unexpectedly last June, is set to reopen in late March as the Edison Ballroom. Leased from the building’s owner, the 17,000-square-foot space is now under the management of Allan Wartski—who owns the Hakata Grill and Christo’s Steakhouse—and is to be a dedicated event space. Although the space received a complete overhaul, Glen Coben’s design retains some of the venue’s original Art Deco characteristics.

Looking to accommodate meetings as well as cocktail functions and dinner dances, the ballroom has room for 500 banquet-style or 1,000 for receptions; it seats 700 theater-style. In addition to a 600-square-foot stage (which can be extended into a runway) are three bars and a lounge area. The venue offers full-service catering, but outside caterers are welcome.    —Anna Sekula
