2. In 2006, the Mayflower Inn in Washington, Connecticut, added a 20,000-square-foot spa for corporate retreats. Not only can a group book a weekend at the spa, but the five-star hotel also has a 1,200-square-foot teahouse for meetings, as well as two breakout rooms that each hold as many as 10 people. For additional activities, the staff can coordinate teambuilding outings such as biking in Litchfield Hills.

3. Northwest of Atlantic City is Sharrott Winery, a family-owned winery that will open in May. On 34 acres, the winery has a tasting room that can be used Mondays through Thursdays or weekend evenings. The 20-seat mahogany bar has an adjacent 30-foot-long patio with views of the vineyard, or you can put up a tent on the 3,200-square-foot lawn.   —Anna Sekula
