Dia’s director of external affairs, Laura Raicovich, worked with Melissa Feldman and her company, MF Productions, to plan the event, which started with cocktails in the long hallway of Skylight, where a large mural featured a timeline of the foundation’s history, from 1974 to the present day, and showed its plans for a new museum in the meatpacking district.
Event designer Annalisa Milella worked with Angela Missoni to decorate the dining tables and incorporated bold black and white floral pattern chargers from the line, along with Missoni tablecloths and napkins. The black and white zigzag pattern of the table covering and the strong black and white china pattern created an interesting quiltlike effect. In the center of each table black and white square cube candles in a four-part checkerboard pattern nestled in a clear glass square container with red gerbera daisy heads. The red blossoms were also scattered at the center of each table surrounding the simple candle displays.
Olivier Cheng Catering and Events put together a dinner menu with autumnal foods: roasted winter squash salad with Hudson Valley Camembert cheese and croutons made from polenta, lamb with celery root puree, brussels sprouts, and pearl onion and chestnut ragout.
