| Wash-and-Dry Suits Debut at Laundry Mat Stunt |
| Models sprayed each other with ketchup and mustard before tossing their suits in the washer to show off Bagir's new line for JCPenney. |
|
Where would the international tailoring company Bagir Ltd. and
JCPenney introduce their new line of washable men's suits? A self-service laundry, of course. David Feig, Bagir vice president of marketing, and Erica Fineberg of Fineberg Publicity invited the press to the Second Wave LaunderCenter on Ninth Avenue for a demonstration by models from T&L Events, who staged a ketchup and mustard spill followed by a G-rated strip down. Next they threw their suits in a washer and, a few minutes later, a dryer to unveil clean, unstained menswear. (In the pursuit of a swift—and risk-free presentation—a second pair of suits for the dryer were preset in another washer.) Go Catering passed light snacks on washboards, and guests checked their coats directly to the laundry's dry cleaning rack.
