OVERVIEW
Renny Reynolds became one of the biggest names in event design in the 1970s, serving White House administrations and training some of today’s top designers. In 2000, Reynolds stepped down and his nephew, Reed McIlvaine, took over. In 2008, the firm designed a 550-person gala for Tony Bennett’s Exploring the Arts Foundation at Cipriani Wall Street. Centerpieces consisted of copper-leaf glass cylinders stacked with mixed flower arrangements surrounded by floating candles, while tables at the perimeter had 12-foot-tall trees, custom-made on site, coming out from them. The company also operates retail floral shops on Park Avenue, in the St. Regis Hotel, and on Jupiter Island in Florida.
