Old Post Office Pavilion
Built in 1899, Washington’s first skyscraper stands 12 stories tall with a steel-and-granite frame. Built to house the U.S. and Washington, D.C. post offices, the space is now a popular shopping destination. The Romanesque atrium at the center of the pavilion has been a favorite spot for presidential inaugural balls and New Year’s Eve events. A dramatic staircase frames the space. This venue seats 500 or holds 1,900 for receptions.
