Toronto’s Annual BizBash Event Style Expo
Announces Hall of Fame Recipients

Toronto, Ontario - January 16, 2009 - BizBash Media is thrilled to announce this year’s Hall of Fame Award inductees. Recipients of this prestigious award will be honored during the BizBash Event Style Expo on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at Heritage Court, Direct Energy Centre, on the Exhibition grounds (100 Princes’ Blvd., Toronto). The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. on the main stage. These candidates were selected as true event pioneers who have impacted event design and production, enhancing the overall status of events in Toronto.

Hall of Fame honorees include (in alphabetical order):
 

Samantha Brickman, Founder and President of MAS Communications
Brickman’s successful career and knowledge of event management have been vast and diverse. With more than a decade of experience, she has worked with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, with credits including producing the Vanity Fair party at the Toronto International Film Festival, and most recently co-producing the Virgin Unite event in 2008 for Sir Richard Branson’s charity.

Cameron Hawkins, President of Cameron Hawkins & Associates and Chief Operating Officer, Vision|Co
Hawkins is an industry leader with 30 years of advisory service in Canada’s hospitality and tourism industry. He has been acknowledged as an innovator in the strategic support of festival and event management operation for his work as an integral member of the Toronto 2008 Olympic bid team, on the Toronto Molson Indy and G7 economic summit, and in bringing U.S. college football to Canada for the first time ever.

Patricia Lakin, Director of National Events, Bell Canada
With more than 28 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, Lakin is defined by her expertise as a leader in event management in the corporate sector. In her current role as Director of National Events for Bell Canada, she has grown the annual Bell Gala fund-raiser into a multi-award winning entertainment experience that is one of the highlights on the Toronto philanthropic social calendar.

“We are thrilled to be honouring such incredibly talented industry leaders and inducting them into the BizBash Media Hall of Fame. Each recipient is at the top of their field and deserving of recognition amongst their peers,” said David Adler, C.E.O. of BizBash Media.
