New York—October 21, 2010—BizBash, the media authority for the event and meeting planning industry, is gearing up for its 10th annual New York Expo & Awards, its biggest celebration of the local event planning industry ever. Known for innovation, this year's show—to be held at the Javits Center on Wednesday, October 27—promises to be even more over-the-top, with walking Lady Gaga tables, comic M.C. Scott Bloom hosting the BizBash Awards presentation, holiday-themed tabletop design competitions, and planner attendees winning destination getaways to BizBash markets including Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, and Toronto.
"You can imagine that with more than 7,000 event professionals attending BizBash Expos each year, our shows are under an incredibly tough microscope," said David Adler, C.E.O. and founder of BizBash Media. "We love rising to the challenge and the opportunity to keep outdoing ourselves, which keeps our attendees coming back stronger, year after year."
Launched shortly after the 9/11 attacks, the BizBash Expo has grown from one show to events in multiple markets—including Los Angeles, Florida, and Chicago—and continues to evolve as the inspiration source for event and meeting professionals nationwide. Attendees can never be sure what excitement and surprises await them, from a caterwaiter fashion show to television sets made of ice or the world's largest goodie bag on display.
"Simply put, the excitement, the energy, and the ideas that BizBash Expos deliver to event professionals is unmatched and that's the draw," said BizBash Media president Richard Aaron. "BizBash Expos are not just events—they're an experience unlike any other, and this year will be our boldest happening yet."
Illustrious names such as Preston Bailey, Tina Brown, Lynda Resnick, and Sex and the City creator Darren Star have walked the BizBash Expo stage as speakers in previous years; this year's show lineup includes Jennifer Gilbert of The Real Housewives of New York City fame; Arthur Backal, C.E.O. and founder of Backal Hospitality Group; and Dara P. Richardson-Heron, C.E.O. of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Greater New York City Affiliate.
