New York—October 27, 2010—BizBash, the trade media authority for the event planning industry, announced the winners of the 2010 New York Readers' Choice Awards in a ceremony held during the BizBash Expo on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at the Javits Center:
Corporate Event Planner of the Year: Daniele Menache, managing director, global head of events, AllianceBernstein LP
Event Designer of the Year: Bronson van Wyck, president, Van Wyck & Van Wyck
Event Caterer of the Year: Carla Ruben, president and owner, Creative Edge Parties
Event Producer of the Year: Maneesh Goyal, president and founder, MKG

BizBash readers were first invited to nominate New York City event professionals for their individual contributions to the event industry in these five categories, and then to vote on the finalists through BizBash's all-new interactive voting site (bizbash.com/youvote). Finalists campaigned for votes using customized social media marketing tools provided to them by BizBash and also got creative with their own initiatives to drive nearly 14,000 votes from industry colleagues and peers.
"From Facebook and Twitter to conversations at local events, the buzz about the finalists in these awards was incredibly contagious," said David Adler, C.E.O. and founder of BizBash Media. "We are thrilled that the industry has responded so enormously to honor these individuals for their efforts on behalf of the events and meetings industries."
The award presentation, during which winners each received elegant medals, was attended by more than 3,000 top corporate event and meeting professionals, as well as marketers and vendors in the event industry, including caterers, audiovisual companies, lighting and sound companies, venue managers, and decor and design companies. The Readers' Choice Awards will now be launched as an addition to BizBash Expos & Awards events in Florida on April 12, 2011, and Pasadena on June 14, 2011.
