New York, September 10, 2001 - BiZBash Idea
Center, www.bizbash.com,
the media outlet for the event industry and Chezam,
the special events firm, will convene a convention of
celebrity look-a-likes at the BiZBash Javits Event Expo
2001 -The Fresh Idea Show October 11 at the Jacob K.
Center, 655 West 34th Street.
The look-a-likes, all professionals, include people
who look like Cher, Michael Jackson, Liza Minnelli and
numerous cast members from The Sopranos. These professionals
"rent by the hour" for special events around the country.
Also in attendance will be celebrity "look-a-like" hopefuls,
up-and-coming look-a-likes for up-and-coming celebrities.
"This unique conclave of look-a-likes will encourage
event planners to use "look-a-likes" at their fall and
holiday events as an especially fun, cost-effective
and creative approach to creating excitement during
uncertain economic times," said Richard Aaron, President
of BiZbash.com and the recipient of the 2001 Meeting
Planner International's Event Professional-of-the-Year
award. "Although some look-a-likes can be expensive,
getting a real celebrity may be too costly and unreliable."
Richard Blau, Executive Vice President of Chez-zam
said, "We are calling on the entire professional look-a-like
community to participate in this event, and we will
be cooperating with other look-alike agents and casting
people such as Gina Lennon and Elaine Chez to help us
spread the word. This is also a chance to see new talent.
It is important that event professionals have a sense
of all the creative choices available in the New York
market."
Think you look like somebody and want to turn that
into a career? Look-alikes can register to participate
in the convention by calling Jacqui Palmer, Director
Of Specialty Casting of Chez-zam, at (631) 595-2981,
extension 348.
