Newspaper Covering Special Events to Launch in February
BiZBash Event Style Reporter Will Showcase Vibrant NYC Event, Meeting & Hospitality Industry

New York, December 4, 2001 - BiZBash Idea Center, the media company serving the special event, meeting and business entertainment community in New York City, announced today that it will launch a quarterly newspaper called the BiZBash Event Style Reporter in February to encourage meeting and event professionals, marketers, and CEOs to book events in the vibrant New York City event and meeting market. Initially the print product was to be launched in 2003, but due to the difficulties facing New York's hospitality industry, the publishing schedule was advanced so that the newspaper could also be used as a marketing tool for New York City during the recovery period. The frequency of the publication will increase to a monthly in 2003.

The tabloid-size publication will include some editorial features similar to the content on the BiZBash.com site, including behind-the-scenes coverage of recent New York special events, a guide to new venues and pieces about new products and services for event planners. Special features in the print product will include a venue, entertainment and event/meeting management directory; a planning calendar of future events; and a special report on the top 100 most important annual events in New York City.

The new print publication will complement BiZBash's successful Web site and encourage readers to visit the site to do more in-depth research for specialized vendors in New York's event market. Since launching in February 2001, BiZBash.com has attracted more than 50,000 user sessions monthly. The Event Style Reporter will have a highly targeted controlled circulation of 10,000, with readership expected to be close to 40,000. Its debut in February will coincide with the presentation of the first BiZBash Event Style Awards at a BiZBash-sponsored networking event.

While the content of the new publication will be regional in nature, the interest in the New York City market for meetings and events is international. BiZBash was founded on the premise that the market needs to have more information to service this growing market. Prior to September 11, New York hosted more than 100,000 business events and meetings a year, representing an estimated $4 billion marketplace.

According to BiZBash CEO and founder David Adler, "BiZBash's unique editorial approach of covering real events, event ideas and creative solutions provides practical, up-to-the minute news of what is 'hot,' 'in' and 'do-able' now has proven to be a valuable resource to anyone who has to execute or plan meetings or events in New York City."

Of the Event Style Reporter's 10,000 controlled circulation, 60 percent will be from a proprietary list of qualified BiZBash registered users who are buyers of event and meeting services in New York City. Selected top tier meeting and event buyers who have not been introduced to BiZBash will represent 20 percent of the distribution.

In addition, 20 percent of the copies of the publication will be sent to companies who will be exhibiting at upcoming trade shows and conferences and need to plan additional events in New York. The publication will also be made available to NYC & Company, the convention and visitors bureau, as well as other New York outreach organizations, as a marketing tool to help in recruiting meetings, events and conventions to the city.

In order to make the publication affordable to all entities, BiZBash will be pricing a special advertising section called the NYC Event & Meeting Registry at $600 per each four-color quarter tabloid page listing. The registry will cover venues and entertainment, décor, production and audiovisual, destination management and event and meeting planning companies.
