NEW YORK, August 9, 2000 - The BiZBash.com
Idea Center, the soon to be launched marketplace and
showcase serving the premium events and business entertaining
community, announced today that Jane Shapiro has been
named its founding vice president of operations. Most
recently Shapiro was a strategy consultant to Knowledge
Strategies, a new media development firm.
"Jane was instrumental in authoring the initial business
plan for BiZBash.com and has been critical in establishing
the groundwork for the Company. We are thrilled to have
her lead the BiZBash operations and business strategy
efforts," said David Adler, CEO and founder. "In this
new post she will oversee the areas of human resources,
legal, finance and business strategy and planning."
"The potential of BiZBash.com is very promising," said
Shapiro. "From a business management point of view,
the Company has all the attributes of an established
business, but is very agile and utilizes innovative
new economy technology. I look forward to being part
of the team that will build BiZBash.com into a new media
force in the events industry."
Shapiro has more than 10 years of business experience
- both as a management consultant and healthcare administrator.
Prior to Knowledge Strategies, Shapiro spent three years
with the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System
(North Shore), working to establish an Internet presence
for the 13 hospital health care network. Before joining
North Shore, she was a management consultant for six
years - primarily with ECG Management Consultants. Jane
holds an M.B.A. from Boston University and a bachelor
of arts in economics from Tufts University.
