Part of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s expansion project, Patina Restaurant Group opened Ray’s restaurant and Stark Bar adjacent to the Resnick Pavilion in 2011. Ray’s features three floor-to-ceiling glass walls with views of the museum’s parklike surroundings, with a fourth wall made of corrugated cement. The outdoor Stark Bar is comprised of a long bar, a lounge area, and nearby table seating. Both Ray’s and Stark Bar contain midcentury-inspired furniture and have a total seating capacity of just over 150. Chef Kris Morningstar created the Mediterranean-inspired menu.
