Scott Conant, the chef behind Alto, opened this Italian restaurant in 2008. On the outskirts of the meatpacking district, Scarpetta is an elegant space furnished with a long mahogany bar, dark wood accents, and some exposed brickwork. Accenting the main dining room is a sweeping skylight. The restaurant seats 85, with room for an additional 20 in the sidewalk café.
