Is it Annemarie Iverson who's ahead of the times, or is it the teen magazines? Just over a year ago YM threw a party at Light to celebrate her new position as editor in chief of the mag (which was the latest hotspot back in September 2000). Iverson, now the newly-appointed editor in chief of Seventeen, was hosting yet another party at a brand-new bar--this time it was Meet, the latest in the restaurant-laden Meatpacking District. Meet offered an inviting, comfortable environment with its glowing, orange-colored marbleized bar and tabletops, sleek white pillars, exposed brick walls and brown wood furnishings.
The party also featured an interesting alternative to the ordinary step-and-repeat backdrop: Celebrity guests (including Nicole Miller, Diane von Furstenberg, Jane and William Lauder, The Royal Tenenbaums' Al Thompson and Gilmore Girls' Jared Padelecki) were photographed in front of a tall stack of three cubes (similar to giant building blocks) printed with Seventeen's new logo. The cubes stood next to the entrance of the restaurant for photo ops.
