June 9 will bring the Los Angeles edition of the BizBash Expo & Awards, our annual showcase of the latest ideas, trends, and strategies, and your chance to see the local leaders of the event industry under one roof at the
L.A. Mart.
Just added to the lineup is a session from planner Steve Kemble, who will share behind-the-scenes stories from red carpets at the Oscars, Golden Globes, American Music Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, Independent Spirit Awards, and the
American Idol finale. Kemble will speak from his experience with event planning, red carpet fashion, and pop and celebrity culture.
As previously announced, veteran planner Mindy Weiss of
Mindy Weiss Party Consultants will be the keynote speaker, and will also be inducted into our hall of fame. Other inductees are Dennis Cornell, associate senior vice president for university relations and chief of protocol at U.S.C., and Debbie Hawkins, executive director of M.P.I.'s Southern California chapter and ISES L.A.
