First Spring Miami Spice Begins Today
The Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau announced Friday the incarnation of a springtime Miami Spice restaurant month. Many of Spice's summer and fall 2008 participants have returned for the spring, offering three-course prix-fixe menus for lunch, priced at $23, and dinner for $36 through the end of the month. More than 55 restaurants are involved, including the Restaurant at the Setai, Vix at the Hotel Victor, Pacific Time, and Talula Restaurant & Bar.

The visitors bureau created Miami Spice for the summer months as a way to boost the local economy during the tourist off-season and draw locals to the city’s normally higher-priced restaurants. Earlier this year, the bureau expanded the program to winter, the height of tourist season, due to lower numbers of out-of-towners coming to Miami.
