| FROM LOS ANGELES In South Pasadena: At 750ml, picture windows overlook a Gold Line train stop, so displaced urbanites can soak up the city vibe. Steven Arroyo—who’s behind tapas bar Cobras & Matadors and the Eastside’s upscale taqueria Malo—brings chef Greg Bernhardt of Le Dome and Grace to this South Pas wine bar.
In Santa Monica: The set that needs to practice its ironic shuffleboard game can do so in the Parlor, an upscale sports bar backed by Real World alums.
In Hollywood: Cool kids who feel more comfortable in an outdoor-themed space than in the actual outdoors can set up camp next to teak tree-stump cocktail tables beneath antler chandeliers at the Woods, a cozy Hollywood watering hole.
In Century City: While the name Pink Taco itself guarantees a chuckle from even too-cool Eastsiders, the Westfield mall’s newest restaurant has a large bar, an outdoor patio overlooking Santa Monica Boulevard, and lucha libre paintings lining the walls.
