Overview: The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College is a fully-equipped proscenium-style theater with 624 seats and is designed in an elegant 1940’s Moderne style with plush seating upholstered in crimson velveteen. The Assembly Hall is a 2000 seat theater which is most often used for graduation ceremonies, large symposiums, symphonies, choir performances and other large events. The Ida K. Lang Recital Hall is a 149 seat concert space with beautiful acoustics. Used principally for musical performance, it also accommodates staged readings, lectures, symposia and performances requiring no wing space or stage depth. It is also home to our “Gershwin” piano. The Silberman Auditorium located within the Silberman Campus has a bright and professional environment, the smaller size of 153 seats lends itself to an intimate townhall meeting setting. In addition to these four spaces Hunter College offers various lectures halls, classrooms, practice rooms and meeting areas which can be used for a wide array of events.
