As the senior account manager at SDI Marketing, PepsiCo Canada’s sports marketing agency, Theresa Martel is the exclusive planner of all sports-related promotions for PepsiCo products. Martel executes about five events per year, including “Bring Home the Stanley Cup,” a contest in which contestants can win the ultimate NHL Playoff house party, complete with a visit from ex-NHL player Mark Messier and the cup itself.
Signage: "PNH Enterprises Inc. is a one-stop shop for us. Producing branded backdrops, tents, flags, table banners, and so many other types of signage, they have always been great at providing innovative concepts for us. It’s sometimes easy to get stuck in a rut with these types of items, so it’s great to have them on the forefront of new ideas."
Gifts/Premiums: "Many of our events involve branded clothing for staff, and sometimes guests, such as the PepsiCo-branded hockey jerseys. An amazing supplier who worked with us on this is Integrus Brand Solutions Inc. The personal attention we’ve received from our account manager there is what sets them apart from the pack. As many of our events require items that are co-branded with a certain sports property, Accolade Reaction Promotion Group is a one-stop shop for licensed merchandise. They are official suppliers for the CFL, CHL, NHL, MLB, NFL, and Nascar, and have an amazing team I have worked with for years who never disappoint."
Venue: "A great venue we have worked with in the past is Wayne Gretzky’s Restaurant. The Second City, attached to Gretzky’s, is a great location for an intimate gathering of up to about 300. Having the catering capabilities of the main restaurant, including their staff and menu, while maintaining a private feel with the separate entrance made it very successful for us."
Printing: "Copyright is a small shop that has been amazing to work with over the years. They know my voice when I call and can always find a solution for any printing issue. Whether printing flyers, photos for pro player autograph sessions, or invites, they seem to work their magic under sometimes amazing time constraints."
Photography: "Moffat Media is another small shop with great attention to detail. Always able to handle my last-minute photo requests, I've called on their services for a number of our corporate sporting events over the last few years. Moffat Media is great at taking direction, while at the same time providing their professional take on the task at hand to deliver superior results."
