NEW YORK Yesterday, at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, Qatar, the Tribeca Film Festival and the Qatar Museums Authority announced a joint partnership that will launch the Tribeca Film Festival Doha in November next year. Modeled after the New York-based cinematic showcase, the festival in the Arabian Gulf state will feature a variety of documentaries, new Hollywood releases, and independent movies as well as outdoor screenings and kid-friendly films. It will also include panel discussions, dubbed the Doha Conversations.
The inaugural film fest is set to take place November 10 to 14, 2009, at the Museum of Islamic Art and other cinemas in Doha.
