VENUE: Natural History Museum's New Theater

June 17, 2002, 12:00 AM EDT

After a year-long restoration and renovation, the American Museum of Natural History's auditorium has reopened as the Samuel J. and Ethel LeFrak Theater. Originally designed by Josiah Cleaveland Cady, the theater now features a new entrance lobby, carpeting, seating and drapery, and features modern technical amenities like a movie screen, a digital audio system and new production equipment that enables users to record and webcast events. The auditorium has 926 seats and 20 wheelchair positions. —Suzanne Ito (Photo by Denis Finnin)
