Bethesda North Marriott Debuts 10-Story Wing
Last month the JBG Companies opened a 10-story wing addition to the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, adding 225 guest rooms (including three luxury suites and a presidential suite) and a concierge lounge to the existing 225 room hotel and event complex, which is a 20-minute drive from downtown Washington and near White Flint Metro stop. The ninth-floor presidential suite, large enough for 100 people, has floor-to-ceiling windows with views of downtown Bethesda. The three adjacent ground-level luxury suites (off the lobby) can be used as event hospitality rooms.

Open since 2004, the property is home to more than 35,000 square feet of meeting space, including the bright red- and orange-hued grand ballroom (located in the conference center wing), which has 22-foot ceilings and more than 23,500 square feet that can be divided, with sound-resistant walls, into eight spaces, together large enough to seat 2,000.

In addition, the hotel has 11 event spaces with capacities ranging from a 20-seat boardroom up to a 150-seat theater-style room—all equipped with LCD projection screens. The 130-seat amphitheater is Marriott’s teleconference room, with individual data port and voice-activated microphone at every seat and cameras positioned to zoom in on speakers and broadcast onto a projector screen. There is also a patio space that can be used for events but is not available for separate rental.
