Bourbon Steak Offers Butter-Poached Beef and Private Dining at Four Seasons Hotel
In mid-December celebrity chef Michael Mina, president of the San Francisco-based restaurant management company Mina Group, opened the much buzzed-about dining and drinking spot Bourbon Steak in Georgetown’s Four Seasons Hotel. Mina, who has Bourbon outposts in Scottsdale, Miami, and Detroit, is best known for his unique preparations of all-natural and organic meats, poached in oil or butter, and finished on a wood-fired grill.

Designed by the Rockwell Group and housed in the hotel's former Garden Terrace tea room, the 5,400-square-foot lobby-level space has a warm, contemporary decor in shades of chocolate and nutmeg (with lots of leather and natural wood finishes) in the bilevel 144-seat main dining room and the 42-seat bar and lounge. A private dining room, off the restaurant entry, seats 22 and features linen wall coverings, an oak credenza with a 60-inch flat screen television and, like the main dining room, has large windows that overlook the historic C&O Canal. (The main dining room and bar are not currently available for events.)

Founded by Mina in 2002 with partner Andre Agassi, the Mina Group manages 15 additional restaurant properties in the U.S. and Mexico.
