| Sleek Dupont Hotel Opens With Event Space, Upscale Restaurant, and Private Dining |
|
Sporting a $52 million top-to-bottom makeover, the former Jury’s Washington hotel reopened as the Dupont Hotel with a soft opening in late March. All improvements and a ninth-floor concierge level are expected to be complete by midsummer.
Owned by the Dublin-based Doyle Collection, the Dupont Circle property offers 327 guests rooms, a restaurant with an outdoor cafe, a spacious bar, and 9,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. Of the 10 meeting rooms, the largest is the 3,371-square-foot Dupont Grand Ballroom, which has a ground-level private terrace. |

Also on the ground floor, which has a red, black, and cream color scheme, is the 100-seat Café Dupont, which includes three private dining rooms that seat 10 to 30 guests each. In fair weather, a wall of glass opens onto the adjoining 36-seat outdoor café. Executive chef Nenad Stefanovic's menu favors French-infused organic cuisine such as braised short ribs with truffle jus and portobello fries with aioli.
Across a hallway is Bar Dupont, which has its own wall of glass looking onto Dupont Circle and plenty of sculpted leather and suede seating, white marble and Venetian tile floors, and rich dark wood.
Still to be completed is the ninth-floor luxury concierge level, which will include guest rooms, additional event space, and a bilevel presidential suite.
Correction: The story was changed to reflect that Doyle Collection is based in Dublin.
