|
| The upscale shops and department stores that line Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase have a new neighbor. Last week, after a grand opening ceremony on September 22, the new 226-room Courtyard by Marriott Chevy Chase opened with several spaces for events. The 39-year-old property underwent a $35 million renovation and now has a contemporary design and a Gold LEED rating from the U.S. Green Building Council. |

The open, bright lobby, where the traditional front desk has been replaced by separate welcome pedestals, has flexible seating options, a communal table, private media booths with high-definition TVs, and a bar. A key lobby feature is a 57-inch LCD touch screen packed with local information, maps, weather, and headlines. Free WiFi is available throughout the property.
Meeting spaces include the 2,160-square-foot Mayfair room, which can hold 200 for a reception and 150 for a banquet, and the 336-square-foot boardroom, with space for 12. For outdoor events, there is a 3,180-square-foot patio on the second level. The restaurant, Bistro, serves an American menu.
