BizBash Promotes Executives in its Toronto Office
The media company celebrated the changes with a party at the Drake, featuring intriguing florals, effervescent cocktails, and an array of delectable hors d'oeuvres.
The transformed Drake Hotel was an appropriate venue for a cocktail party thrown by BizBash Media to celebrate a transformation of sorts for its Toronto bureau. CEO and founder David Adler and president Richard Aaron were on hand to announce two key promotions at BizBash Toronto. Sabina Pirri, formerly senior account manager, was named publisher, while Robyn Small, formerly managing editor, was named vice-president of events. “We’re ushering in a more vigorous role for Toronto within the BizBash organization,” said Small.

Of course, the evening wasn’t all business for the 80 invited guests in attendance; plenty of pleasure was mixed in. Guests were greeted with an effervescent cocktail made from a blend of Hendrick’s gin, sparkling wine, and blackberry puree. Caterwaiters served an array of hors d’oeuvres that revealed the Drake’s culinary split personality. Exotic delectables such as rye crustini topped with port wine, fig jelly, Niagara blue cheese, and walnuts were served along with less adventurous but nonetheless tasty grilled cheese triangles, piggies in a blanket, and mini Drake burgers.

Designing Trendz added to the sense of occasion with intriguing florals hung from the ceiling. Arrangements of white orchids and brightly coloured pincushion florets hovered above tables and booths. As well, test tubes containing white orchids dangled by thin wires from a driftwood-like tree branch to frame the top of the presentation area.
