| Washington Humane Society director of marketing and communications Tara deNicolas and her staff plan 10 annual fund-raising events in the D.C. area in addition to four large-scale events each year. DeNicolas is currently preparing a party for the Dalai Lama’s visit to the city next week.
Audiovisual Production: "Nomad Event Systems has been been a faithful and talented partner of ours for the past year. When we planned our first fashion show, 'Fashion for Paws' [in April at the French Embassy], Nomad stepped in to help us. They taught us the art of designing a fashion show, from the catwalk to the lights to the sound. And thanks to Nomad, everything was flawless."
Photography: "Our talented photographers capture the magic and the unique style of our events: Zaid Hamid, Joseph Allen, and Stephen Bobb. Thanks to their brilliant photography skills, our events have received a lot of attention in the press, and print media has been able to use their photos in magazines and newspapers. It is not easy to take gorgeous photos of our guests and their dogs at the same time—the dogs always seem to have another plan in mind that does not include posing for the camera."
Printing: "Phillip Roadcap at Good Printers Inc. fulfills all of our printing needs for our special events. From the invitations to the signage to the step-and-repeat wall, they do it all to the finest degree."
Graphic Design: "A very, very big thank you must go to designer extraordinaire Supon Phornirunlit of Supon Creative Services. Supon has shaped the materials, Web site, brand, and image of the Washington Humane Society into all that is chic and modern in the past year. One of his most beautiful designs was the invitation for our first annual Fashion for Paws. I asked him to create this work of art in just one day, as we were on deadline and I needed to rush to print in order to get it into people’s mailboxes in time. Supon came up with the design with ease and expertise in just 12 hours. I am excited to see what he has in store for next year’s invitation, since he has had so much time now to prepare and brainstorm."
