| A Spacious Spa Enters Arlington |
|
|
Taking inspiration from the sun, the new
Solarus Salon and Spa, which opened in Arlington in mid-February, focuses on
energizing its clients with a menu chock-full of high-end treatments. The
2,700-square-foot space, designed by owners Brenda Silka and Heather Silka, is
a 15-minute drive from downtown Washington and features waterfalls, tropical plants,
and curved walls and walkways that suggest garden paths. New treatment trends like eyelash extensions and Japanese hair straightening are available, as are
manicures with a moisturizing paraffin treatment or relaxing hot-stone arm
massages.

The emphasis on well-being extends to the salon’s equipment, which
includes ergonomically friendly shampoo stations and stylist chairs made of
recycled coconut trees. Tranquility and technology reign in the spa’s three
treatment rooms, a fruit and juice bar in the candlelit waiting area, and a
hydrotherapy capsule. Events for as many as 200 are welcome, as are smaller
spa-focused fetes.
