OVERVIEW
The magnificent plantation once owned by the first president of the United States offers a dose of history with sweeping views of the Potomac River. Although the estate itself cannot be rented for private functions (except to celebrate a significant gift to the preservation of Mount Vernon’s programs), guests can schedule a private evening tour, host an event at the adjacent 250-seat Mount Vernon Inn, book a party in the inn’s glass-enclosed veranda and adjoining Sunken Garden, or make use of its 200-seat Smith Auditorium.
