OVERVIEW
The Italian Renaissance-inspired Freer Gallery and the underground Sackler Gallery feature the nation’s collection of Asian art. The famous Peacock Room, painted by James McNeill Whistler and lavishly decorated in blue and gold ornamentation, remains open to guests during any event, as do all the exhibition galleries. Although the space cannot be rented for fund-raisers or personal events, it can host a party as gratitude for a generous gift to the museum.
