Home of the American Horticultural Society, River Farm sits on 25 acres of Virginia meadowlands featuring exquisitely landscaped lawns, gardens, and wooded areas. George Washington owned the main house in 1760. The garden flagstone patio, which has a 2,400-square-foot tent that holds 160 for seated dinners or 200 for receptions, offers spectacular views of the Potomac River. The 817-square-foot ballroom seats 50 or holds 125 for receptions. A large country kitchen is available; outside caterers are required.
