OVERVIEW
In May 2009, restaurateur Andy Shallal opened this 290-seat restaurant, directly across the street from his flagship, Busboys and Poets. The bilevel eatery takes its name from Eatonville, Florida, the first all-black incorporated town in the U.S., and the interior decor honors the town’s noted citizen, author Zora Neale Hurston. Spaces include the 180-seat Gallery dining room, the 40-seat Zora’s Loft, a 60-seat semiprivate dining room, and a 40-seat patio. The menu is Southern-inspired with an emphasis on seafood.
