OVERVIEW
In July, chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten opened J&G Steakhouse on the ground level of the new W Washington DC hotel. The 96-seat main dining room has 20-foot ceilings, massive arched windows, and wall and ceiling murals of cherry blossoms and Chinese coins. Two private dining rooms accommodate eight and 10 guests. In addition to grilled prime-aged steaks, the menu includes fresh seafood and organic vegetables from local farms. On a level below the dining room is the 20-seat Wine Bar.
