Meetings, conferences, and conventions are often accused of being the dull siblings of product launches, music festivals, and cocktail parties. But the assumption that content-driven gatherings can't be visually stimulating and innovative is misguided. Just ask Ryan Begelman, the C.E.O. of Bisnow, an e-publisher covering the commercial real estate industry that was founded on the idea that local business news and events could be fun and informative. At the Event Innovation Forum—New York on October 28, Begelman explained his firm's best practices—offering examples from Bisnow events as well as those for the Summit Series—and offered suggestions for ways industry professionals can make meetings more engaging experiences.
