Ryan Slatko is a professional jazz pianist based in New York, recently earning his master’s in music at New York University. Slatko has had the privilege of studying under great artists such as Don Friedman, Alan Broadbent, Ari Hoenig, Gil Goldstein, Taylor Eigsti, and Kenny Werner. Slatko placed third in the 2014 Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition and is a two-time semifinalist for the American Jazz Pianist Competition. His debut album, First Impressions, features Grammy-nominated drummer and producer Ulysses Owens Jr. Slatko has also performed or recorded with Rich Perry, Alex Sipiagin, Chris Potter, Tom Scott, Linda Oh, Adam Rogers, and Randy Brecker. Slatko has performed at the 55 Bar, Blue Note, the Kitano, Mintons, and others. He also served as music director for the world premiere of Lights Out: The Nat ‘King’ Cole Story, where he worked with Patricia McGregor, Colman Domingo, Dulé Hill, and Daniel J. Watts, under the supervision of two-time Emmy Award-winning musical supervisor John McDaniel.
