For CyberCoders, an Irvine-based staffing firm that just sold for $105 million, Kapture Vision produced a Great Gatsby-theme event with some unusual, envelope-pushing entertainment. Held at the Majestic Halls, the original Bank of America building, the December 14 party saw costumed flappers and '20s-style gents greet and dance for guests, as well as numerous other live acts create a festive atmosphere.

The sounds of a 10-piece big band set the tone inside the venue, where visuals underscoring a sense of extravagance included a model pouring bubbly next to a giant champagne glass and a live elephant. In the main dining area, a live band filled the room with energy as horns, confetti, and fire lit up the stage. Tap dancers dressed as waiters from Dial M Productions broke into synchronized dance. And for dramatic effect, a tightrope walker hovered over guests at dinner, teasing the crowd with leg lifts, wobbles, and the splits.

In the speakeasy-style after-party space, bottle-service waitresses dressed as flappers served premium liquors cracked straight from crates labeled “Prohibition Banned,” while acrobatic-style performers from Los Angeles-based Zen Arts performed a sultry act, and roaming magicians kept the crowd entertained.

Here's a look at Gatsby-worthy ideas to apply to your next extravagant bash.
