For its thirteenth annual Open Your Heart benefit, Bailey House sent invitations in a small red cardboard box. Ted Dawson (of Ted Dawson Studio) designed a heart logo for the outside of the box that was repeated on the paper invitation inside. Two chocolate hearts inside added a sweet incentive to attend the event, which is always held near Valentine's Day.

Bailey House, a nonprofit that provides housing and services for homeless people with AIDS, also managed to keep the cost of the invitations down without sacrificing style. The printing was just two colors (red and black), and the boxes were donated by Martin Kofman of the American Package Company, whose daughter, Michele Kofman, is on Bailey House's board of directors. Bailey House also got the chocolates for free, but the donor would rather we didn't mention her store's name--she's happy to help this nonprofit, but she doesn't want too many requests for free chocolate.
