1. SEE THE CRONUT CREATOR'S NEWEST TREAT: Chef Dominique Ansel, creator of the Cronut, will debut a frozen ice cream sundae in a can at a pop-up truck in East Hampton, New York, on Saturday, with part of the proceeds benefiting City Harvest. Huffington Post: “The experimental culinary artist will be selling Warhol-inspired cans filled with sundaes of root beer and stracciatella ice cream, mascarpone semifreddo, macerated cherries, mini marshmallows and meringues.”

2. CANADIAN BANK REWARDS CUSTOMERS AT UNUSUAL A.T.M.: A new customer loyalty marketing campaign for TD Canada Trust surprised people at a special A.T.M. dubbed the “Automated Thanking Machine.” Mashable: “Some excited customers got bonus cash, but others received gifts that didn't fit through the usual money slot. One woman was presented with a bouquet of flowers. A Toronto Blue Jays fan picked up a team shirt and cap—then was greeted by the Jays' Jose Bautista, who told him he'd be throwing out the first pitch at an upcoming game.”

3. HOW TO HAVE A BETTER TRADE SHOW EXPERIENCE: To make the most of exhibiting at a trade show, B-to-B marketing consultant Ruth Stevens offers tips on how to leverage preshow promotions, staffing your booth, and post-show follow-up. Ad Age: “you must focus on ensuring that you will 1) Meet the right people at the event, and 2) Use every minute of face-time for productive conversations. This means pre-show outreach, to set up meetings, drive traffic to your booth or invite targets to your private get-togethers, like breakfasts or parties. Oddly, business marketers seriously under-utilize this highly leveragable option, devoting only 5% of their event budgets to pre-show promotions, according to the Center for Exhibition Industry Research.”
