The Accessories Council, the Consulate General of Monaco, QVC, Marchon Eyeware and the Entertainment Industry Foundation hosted a sleek, stylish party to celebrate the QVC Cure by the Shore television fund-raiser in May. The party, held in the Marchon showroom, was attended by more than 100 members of the accessories industry, who mingled in the stark white space while sipping Paul Goerg champagne and enjoying hors d'oeuvres from Osteria Del Circo and Le Cirque 2000.

Graceful acrobats from Chez-zam performed on suspended apparatus from the showroom's ceiling--with their spacey silver and black costumes, the performers were reminiscent of the popular Cirque du Soleil troupe. Like human accessories, they added a perfect carnivalesque element to the event's celebratory atmosphere.

The council's silent auction featured items from designers including Donna Karan, Manolo Blahnik, Fendi, Kate Spade, Prada and Gucci. Proceeds went to the National Women's Cancer Research Alliance.

Sheila Block, the executive director of the Accessories Council spoke briefly, and was followed by Ken Sunshine, a representative for the Entertainment Industry Foundation. Finally, Consul General of Monaco Maguy Maccario-Doyle spoke about the QVC benefit's kickoff event on the rooftop of the Monte Carlo Grand Hotel in Monaco on May 19. By the time Maccario-Doyle finished describing Monaco, with its pristine location on the glittering Mediterranean and its warm sun and sparkling sandy beaches, the faraway look in some of the partygoers' eyes made it seem as though they were already booking their plane tickets in their heads.
