Earlier this month, the Peninsula Beverly Hills announced that it will reopen its roof garden, with upgrades, in May. The new 6,200-square-foot multiuse space will feature a pool, outdoor bar, and 48-seat dining terrace. The entire rooftop area will hold 150.
Beverly Hills interior designer Cheryl Rowley (who has been busy with Westwood project Hotel Palomar Los Angeles) is behind the $4 million renovation. Heated limestone tiles will flank the 60-foot pool and the jacuzzi, and a dozen cabanas furnished with aluminum and teak outdoor furniture will dot the terrace. Palm trees, jasmine, and wisteria will serve as a living wall backdrop. Another bonus: guests will receive chilled, lemon-verbena-scented towels and smoothies or fresh fruit skewers during their pool visits. The bar and patio area will include a teak-topped bar and a fire pit, and a chef will grill steaks, fish, and poultry to order on an outdoor grill.
