For the second year, Robert and Diane Herjavec opened their upscale Bridal Path home (incidentally, the same home that Mick Jagger stays in while in town) for the now-annual Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation fund-raiser. The $1,000 per ticket affair was dubbed the Boss Benefit in recognition of Hugo Boss, which stepped up as lead event sponsor. More than 400 guests descended on the 50,000-square-foot, three-acre mansion for an evening that included a formal dinner, a silent auction, a musical performance by five-time Grammy winner John Legend, and a full-runway fashion show featuring the spring 2007 Hugo Boss collection.
North 44 catered the dinner, which featured seating split between the pool house, ballroom, library, and dining room. Elegant table settings from planning and design firm McNabb Roick Events befit the Palm Beach hostess theme. Decor elements included white napkins atop turquoise and white printed linens and bamboo coloured chiavari chairs from Exclusive Affair Rentals. The centerpieces were potted orchids soaring from elegant white vases. In the silent auction tent, a butterfly-esque graphic and the words Boss Benefit garnished the middle of a long white bar. The graphic harkened back to last year, when the event theme was the butterfly effect. Turquoise flamingos filled the large pond that flanked the tent.
Following dinner, guests poured into the fashion show tent, where a catwalk from Westbury National Show Systems was flanked by white folding chairs and palm trees.
